1. Saga Youth Hostel Beijing(北京红都实佳宾馆)
This hostel makes a good jumping-board for you to get under the skin of Beijing cultural highlights, being situated in the heart of the cultural district. It is just a 10 minute walk from Dengshikou Metro, close to Wangfujing Shopping area, a 15-20 minute walk away. Checking in and out is and fast,staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious and comfy, clean with a TV and kettle; the bathroom is good and the free wifi.

2. Beijing Downtown Backpackers(东堂客栈)
This hostel is superbly located in the old hutong area, specifically in the famous Nanluoguxian. It is surrounded by shops, street vendors, cafes and nice restaurants. The nearest subway station is a 5 minute walk from the hostel. The highlights of Tiananmen square,  Forbidden City are just about 20 minutes away by subway. The hostel also offers the travel service which allows you to take the trips to the Great Wall and many other attractions.

3. Nostalgia Hotel (时光漫步怀旧主题酒店)
It is a boutique hotel set in a charming courtyard in Fangjia Hutong rife with many hideaway bars, shops and restaurants. The staff is helpful, and often go out of their way to help visitors by giving advice on what to do in Beijing and how to get there. The rooms are clean and spacious. The metro station is about 10 minutes walking distance.As for the near attraction, the hotel is just next to Lama Temple and Confucian Temple.

4. Red Lantern House (北京红灯笼客栈)
This hostel is centrally located with a 10-minute walk to the metro and close to the major sights such as Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, etc. It is set in a hutong with the real Beijing feeling. The rooms are clean with air-condition. There are also lockers available just in case. The hostel also provides good food, and quite affordable. Generally, it’s a cheap hotel with good value for money but basically you don’t expect too much.

5. Qianmen Hostel (前门客栈)
This hostel has a great location, close to Qianmen Street and Tiananmen Square and subway as well. The best part of the hostel is the in-house bar. The rooms are clean with air-condition. The staff is very helpful, even though some of them don’t speak good English. But they are always friendly and go out of their way to be helpful.There are also legions of eating and shopping choices nearby. WiFi is good. Laundry service is also available.

6.  365 Inn (Beijing Qianmen) 北京安怡之家宾馆前门店
This hostel has a great location, right next to the Qianmen Street, a pedestrian street full of life and teemed with shops and restaurants, just a few minutes’ walk to Tiananmen Square and the metro station.The staff speak good English easy for you to communicate. The rooms are clean with all the basic amenities. Wifi is fast, nice laundry service. The hostel also has a nice bar restaurant area where it’s easy to mix with other travelers.

7. Chinese Box Courtyard Hostel (北京团园四合院客栈)
This hostel is very quiet, tucked away in the hutong area on the west side of Beijing city core, about 10-20 minutes walk from the nearest metro station. The staff is always helpful and can communicate in English. They treat you not as a visitor but as a friend and part of their family. The rooms, dorms and shared bathrooms are nice and clean. They have a wide selection of food perfectly cooked and reasonably priced.

8.  Peking International Youth Hostel (北平国际青年旅舍)
This hostel is tucked away in the hutong area known as Nanluoguxian with typical Chinese vibe, rife with bars and restaurants. It is very close to the metro station.  The Forbidden City, Beihai Park and Houhai are all within walking distance!  Staff is friendly, helpful and enthusiastic. The rooms are clean and quiet with necessary facilities. The hostel restaurant offer very delicious food options for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

9. Beijing Drum Tower Youth Hostel (北京鼓韵青年旅舍)
This hostel is situated near Guloudajie metro station on Line 2 or 8. It has easy access to major attractions in Beijing such as Bell tower, Drum tower, old hutongs, and Shichahai ( Back Lake). Generally the staff is friendly and helpful, speaks English. Rooms are spacious, towels changed daily, rooms area cleaned daily. There are even capsules with bathrooms in them.

10. Liuhexiang Quadrangle Courtyard 北京六合祥四合院
This hostels is tucked away near Xisi subway station (Line 4), and set in a traditional hutong courtyard. Room are cozy, good wifi, air conditioner, nice but small bathroom. It has a lovely little courtyard. Breakfast has two simple choices: sandwich with ham, cheese and fried egg; or noodles with eggs.  All the staff are really helpful and all speak pretty good English.
