Dear Maggie,
Please pardon the long delay in contacting you. I went to Australia after my
time in China, spent almost three weeks there before going on to Singapore
for business and finally got back to the UK a few weeks ago. A couple of
days later, my friend, Cindy, and I flew to Lanzarote, one of the Canary
Islands, where she has lived for 21 years.
I am sorry, too, that I was unable to pick up your e-mail referred to the added charge for having a mini-bus back to the airport. However, I got the message from the darling Robert and, as you know, we paid him in cash on the day.
Both Cindy and I want you to know that Robert was a delight. As a representative of the company, he is a real asset. We loved laughing with him, telling him jokes and stories, asking questions, and generally enjoying his company. Please tell him from us both that we think very highly of him and wish him great success and happiness.
I thought I would send you some attachments...just to prove that we were having a good time. The last photo is one of many featuring cleaners. Robert couldn't understand our pre-occupation with these people. We explained that it was "characterful"...we don't have such wonderful "characters" in our world and they really stood out: perfect subjects for the camera. This particular lady was lovely...
My Mandarin became much better. The guide we had for our trip was from Hong Kong but a fluent Mandarin speaker and she "insisted" that I speak to the local people on our travels. It was wonderful. She helped me with the tonal aspects and I apparently "got it right!" I made "friends" everywhere I went because I was unafraid to try to communicate with them. The men (often harrassed officials in airports)responded to "nee yen han how" and the ladies fell over with delight at "Nee how piou liang!" (Pardon my phonetic spelling...)
Should I return to Beijing you will certainly hear from me!

Dear Mr. Li,
I just want to thank your company for providing us the package tour in our trip to Beijing last week. We really had a great time! I impressed with the world-class service we have experienced there. They were very professional, informative and personal in a way that you would feel their warmth and hospitality. It was very impressive that the tour guides would even give out emergency contact cards. This is truly helpful for tourists who do not know how to speak the local language. Also, thank you for being flexible with the tour. We should have gone to Shi Du but knowing the bad weather condition you agreed to change our itinerary based on our request. I don’t think other travel agencies would allow that. At least, we felt that our needs and safety are assured by the travel agency. I would definitely recommend your travel agency to my friends who will be visiting China.
Some suggestions – it would be best if you could also set up extreme adventure tours in China. I’m sure there are a lot of places and activities to do there.
We would like to thank Emily for patiently waiting for us. Our flight was routed to Hong Kong delaying our arrival in Beijing. We thought that our tour would be cancelled because we arrived late in the hotel. However, Emily and the driver (was not able to get the name of the driver) waited for us and gave us enough time to prepare for the tour. Emily was so friendly and cheerful.
We also would like to mention Tristan for his warmth and friendliness. He offered to show us places after our tour where we can stroll and shop even if it is beyond his working time already. He was very professional, friendly and accommodating. I know we’ve been very talkative all throughout the tour (hehehe), but he is very patient and would answer all our questions. He knows how to deal with his customers very well. We really enjoyed his company.
I have attached some pictures from our tour with our tour guides (1:Emily at Lao Tse Teahouse 2: Tristan at the Beijing zoo – he wanted to have a front view of his picture posted in the web hehehe 3: Tristan with me jumping at summer palace – really cool guy 4: Tristan and the driver (don’t know his name) at the Silk Factory). We returned from our holiday last Wednesday and I just wanted to say a
big thank you for organising our tours in Beijing last week.
I must say we were very impressed with Beijing overall (although I would not like to drive in Beijing traffick!!) and will definitely be coming back. When we do, we will not hesitate in using your wonderful service again.
I would also like to say what a great guide Winnie was for us last week. I filled in the feed back form but I would like to reiterate that she was excellent. She was extremely pleasant, informative, funny, had a great personality and was great company. My wife and I were so impressed with her. We wish we could have spent more time with her. If all your other guides are as good as her, well, you must have a very good thing going!!!!
Our driver Mr. Dwan, was also great. I take my hat off to him for getting us though the Beijing traffic in one peice. I would be an absolute nervous wreck driving around there. He was cool at all times and certainly knew his way around.
Anyway, that's about all I wanted to say. Thanks again for all your help. I have recommended you to a number of people already, so hopefully they use your service.

It was a pleasure talking to you on October 1, 2008, and I'm sorry that you had to work on your National Holiday, but your efforts were very much appreciated. My wife and I had a great trip on Tuesday, October 2, 2008, to the Great Wall, at both Badaling and Mutianyu. Truly an unforgettable experience.
Please pass along our sincere thanks to Mr. Shi, our driver, and Lee, our guide. Mr. Shi provided us with safe transportation to and from our destinations in a very clean air conditioned car. Lee is to be complimented for her command of the English language as well as for her knowledge of China. It was like a travelling history class as we travelled. I have just returned home from my week in Beijing and want to thank you, Paul Song and your wonderful team for looking after me so well doing my stay in Beijing.
It was an awesome stay and I managed to do all the things I wanted to do and that included the long walk on the Great Wall, which although a challenge was with the help of your guides great. I managed the 4.5 hours and enjoyed almost every minute, sure a cable car and the walk off the wall through the country side did help, but the whole day with perfect weather and a great team will remain one of my most treasured memories.
I will certainly be recommending you to my friends and will write a bit about the trip on several websites.
I am also sure I will come back to Beijing sometime in the future. As I have told Paul, next time I would like to come to your office and met you both.

I just want to thank your company for providing us the package tour in our trip to Beijing last week. We really had a great time! I impressed with the world-class service we have experienced there. They were very professional, informative and personal in a way that you would feel their warmth and hospitality. Also, thank you for being flexible with the tour. We should have gone to Shi Du but knowing the bad weather condition you agreed to change our itinerary based on our request. I would definitely recommend your travel agency to my friends who will be visiting China.Some suggestions – it would be best if you could also set up extreme adventure tours in China. I’m sure there are a lot of places and activities to do there.
